Rob Keeley (b. 1960) - Lockdown Loopings

These three pieces for alto and bass flutes are another of a long line of duos, in which I have tried to cut down the density of the music, while making the notes themselves work harder. In all of them, a basic, simple ostinato idea is interrupted in different ways, rhythmic stability always being undercut by more rhapsodic ideas. This is most obvious in the final movement, the one most influenced by American minimalism.
