Exit I.D. was written in 2011 for the excellent flutist and low-flute specialist Marion Garver. While written specifically with the lower flutes - contrabass, sub-contra. etc. - in mind, the piece can easily be performed on the bass or alto flute. While micing and amplification are not necessarily required, this is generally preferable (performers may experiment with microphone location) in order to bring out the sonic details of the key-clicks and articulations in a larger performance space.
