Sophien Sonate was written especially for the rarescale Flute Academy, who premiered the work at the European Flute Council's Flute Choirs Across Europe event in Poznan, Poland in April 2019. This two-part Sonate allows each member of the flute family to shine in a solo, providing a good challenge and contrasts between brisk or jocular and melancholic moods.
