Skye Light was written on, and inspired by the Island of Skye in North Scotland where I spent a composers’ retreat with rarescale contemporary music ensemble. Found in a perpetual shift of a wild and radiant scenery, Skye provokes time for reflection and creativity. In this piece I have tried to portray the playful, yet determined movements of the light, elements and climate in such a place.

Skye Light was premiered by rarescale in October 2014 at The Forge, London, and recorded by BBC3.
